For the first time, Migros has crossed 30 billion francs in revenue – rts.ch

The cooperatives and subsidiaries of the Migros group increased their total turnover by almost 4% last year, to 30.07 billion francs. Retail sales in Switzerland fell slightly to 23.12 billion.

The specialized brands Micasa, SportXX, Bike World, Do it + Garden, Melectronics and Obi fell by 6.7% to 1.61 billion, details a preliminary report released on Tuesday.

Decisive e-commerce

Online commerce, on the other hand, continued to grow, with revenues rising by 15.3% to 3.74 billion. The recovery is even more marked in catering, damaged in 2021 by health restrictions and which saw its revenue recover by 46.5% to reach 577 million. The traveler services subsidiary Hotelplan also benefited from a catch-up effect as it emerged from the pandemic, more than doubling its turnover to 1.44 billion.

On the side of own brands, Migros Industries earned a turnover of 5.79 billion, a modest increase of 0.7%.
