Ford urgently recalls 100,000 cars, likely to catch fire

US car giant Ford has issued an emergency recall of more than 100,000 hybrid vehicles because they are at risk of catching fire.

These are the Escapes, Mavericks and Lincoln Corsairs, produced between 2020 and 2022.

The manufacturer recommends that all owners of these vehicles in the United States park them outdoors due to the risk of fire.

At this time, no recalls in Canada regarding these issues have been issued.

21 fires have already broken out in vehicles named above, one of which injured a person.

Owners will receive an official notice from the company on Monday, August 8, advising them of the situation.

This advisory is in addition to a recall already in effect by Ford on Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators.
