Due to large-scale forest fires on the territory of the Sverdlovsk region in Yekaterinburg today, May 11, smog and the smell of burning were established in the morning. About it reported in the Department of Information Policy (DIP).
The DIP noted that 16 forest fires on an area of 34.8 thousand hectares were extinguished in the Sverdlovsk region over the past day. On the evening of May 10, there were 59 natural fires in the region, of which 29 fires were localized. According to FBU “Avialesookhrana”, this morning 75.6 thousand hectares of forest burned in the region.
About 4 thousand people and more than 500 units of special equipment are fighting the fire. Volunteers help professionals.
