Today (Monday), the Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Mental Health Promotion, Dr. Fahad Al-Jalajil, issued a decision to form a committee for professional and ethical practices in mental health.
The decision included the formation of the committee from specialists from the Ministry’s General Department of Mental and Social Health, the Saudi Psychiatric Association, the Saudi Psychological Association and civil society institutions.
The resolution specified the committee’s tasks in: monitoring violating practices and applications in mental health, monitoring violating practices and allegations issued by licensed and unlicensed practitioners, introducing sound professional practices and professional rules, stating the scientific position on new practices and applications, as well as following up on what is published in the media. And social communication, and to clarify the scientific and professional point of view regarding it.
