Former French Jihadist Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison for Islamic State Involvement: The Jonathan Geffroy Story

The former French jihadist of the Islamic State (IS) organization Jonathan Geffroy, converted to Islam and who traveled to the Iraqi-Syrian zone from February 2015 to February 2017, was sentenced on Friday January 19 by appeal to 18 years in prison by the Paris Special Assize Court. This 41-year-old man, who claimed to be a “repentant”, was sentenced to the same sentence as in the first instance. His Moroccan wife, Latifa Chadli, who appeared free, was sentenced to five years in prison, three of which were suspended.
