Kolkata: Indian football team former midfielder and legend of Kolkata club East Bengal Soorajit Sen Gupta (70) has passed away. He died at the Peerless Hospital in Kolkata. Kovid was admitted to the hospital on January 23 with a concussion. She had been on a ventilator for the past ten days as her condition worsened.

He is one of the stars of East Bengal’s golden age. He was known as Bishu. Calcutta has won the League six times in a row with East Bengal. He has won the IFA Shield six times and the Durand Cup three times. He also booted for other major clubs in Kolkata such as Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting. He made his international debut on July 24, 1974 once morest Thailand in the Merdeka Cup. He played 14 matches in the Indian jersey.
