Chet Falisek thinks it’s wrong that the death screen in a game where you “shoot people in the face” shows the words of Rosa Parks. Former Valve screenwriter Chet Falisek, who once worked on Half-Life 2: Episode One and Episode Two, as well as the Portal and Left 4 Dead, attacked the authors of Modern Warfare 3 with negativity. “Over the weekend I played the single-player campaign of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and shot people in the face. He wasn’t a very good shot, and that’s why he died. And then I got a quote from famous war advocate Rosa Parks.” The game shows only part of the quote, when the activist’s entire statement looks like this: “Fear gives way to determination. Once you understand what needs to be done, you can do it without any fear.” “I understand. You think, “We have a great quote from a civil rights activist and we’re going to get attention for it.” No. This is exploitation. It’s disgusting. Rosa Parks has nothing to do with your crude game of shooting people in the face. Don’t use her quote on the death screen. Don’t do this.” (news cover source)
