Formula 1 | Aston Martin F1: Krack ‘proud’ of Vettel and Stroll’s state of mind this season

Aston Martin F1 has shown big ambitions since returning to Formula 1, but the team has unfortunately not gotten off to an ideal start with this year’s new aero regulations, currently sitting ninth in the constructors’ championship.

But if the AMR22 did not meet expectations, director Mike Krack wants to salute the involvement and the spirit of its pilots, Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll.

According to the Luxembourger, the two men have been irreproachable in their attitude this season, even though the poor performance of their single-seaters gave them reason to lose patience.

“They’ve done a great job. Hats off to them, because we’ve had some really difficult moments this season. The car hasn’t been easy to drive, and it would have been easy for Sebastian and Lance to get frustrated, but they’re remained positive and professional.”

“Their feedback has been constructive, they have never criticized the team, and they are ready to acknowledge any mistakes they make behind the wheel.”

“All credit goes to the team’s philosophy: we are on this journey together and we will overcome the tough times together.”

“I’m very proud of our drivers and that includes Nico Hulkenberg and Jessica Hawkins, who both did a lot of work for the team and in the simulator helping us develop the car.

“And of course Nico did an exceptional job when he drove the car for two Grands Prix replacing Sebastian, who had tested positive for Covid-19.
