Formula 1 | The green light is imminent for Audi and Porsche in F1

The board of directors of the VW Group is preparing to give the green light to the arrival of two of its brands in F1, Porsche and Audi.

According to several sources in Germany the announcement would be made next week with a particular agreement found for the two brands.

For Porsche first of all, the association would be made with Red Bull via Red Bull Powertrains, which would develop the 2026 engine. This engine would equip the Red Bulls but also the McLarens, which might become Audis by then.

Indeed, rumors dating from November 2021 point to Audi’s desire to arrive under its own name in Formula 1 and this might be done thanks to the acquisition of McLaren Group and/or McLaren Racing. Zak Brown has not denied certain discussions in recent weeks.

A generous offer of 500 million euros to buy McLaren would be on the table, which would make it possible to set up a team quickly and efficiently without injecting the 200 million euros requested by the FOM for any new entry.

Case to follow but the outcome is finally approaching!
