Drug Trafficking Operation Nets Four Arrests in Sofia

Sofia – Four men have been detained in a major drug trafficking operation conducted by the Sofia Interior Ministry.

Details of the Arrests

The first arrest took place in the Fourth District where a 29-year-old man from Pernik was detained for posession of drugs.

During a search of the apartment he was renting, officials discovered a variety of substances, including:

  • A polyethylene envelope containing a dry grass-like substance
  • An envelope with 107 tablets of different colors and shapes
  • A polyethylene envelope with white powder
  • An electronic balance
  • the 29-year-old was charged under Art. 354 A of the Criminal Code and placed in detention for up to 72 hours.

    In a separate incident, officers from the Third District detained a 45-year-old man in the area of ​​the womenS market. Approximately 20 grams of crystal-like substances, 120 doses of methamphetamine, 2 grams of herbaceous mass, two space beans with blue pills, a methamphetamine production precision instrument, 4 electronic cigarettes, and 6 e-cigarette cartridges where seized.

    The 45-year-old was detained for up to 24 hours and charged under Art. 354 A of the Criminal Code.

    During an operation in the Seventh District, two young men, aged 19 and 20, were detained. A search of their residence revealed:

    • 86 bags of cannabis
    • 49 bags of lumps and dust (amphetamine and cocaine)
    • 9 bags of crystals
    • 29 ecstasy tablets
    • The two were charged under Art. 354 A of the Criminal Code and placed in detention for up to 72 hours.
