Federal subsidy for housing subsidies required
Vienna (OTS) – “Today’s press conference by ARGE Eigenheim once once more underlines the importance of the non-profit housing industry in Austria. The federal government must expand its commitment in order not to allow affordable housing to collapse,” commented FPÖ building spokesman NAbg. Mag. Philipp Schrangl today’s press conference of ARGE Eigenheim.
“The housing support systems of the federal states must be equipped with additional funds. A federal subsidy is required here, which expands the housing subsidies to one percent of GDP,” said Schrangl, describing a liberal demand. “Overall, housing subsidies must be more strongly focused on affordable housing. I think it’s the right way to finance climate policy measures more from climate policy budgets,” Schrangl expressly supported the ARGE Eigenheim’s demand in this regard.
“The black-green government is called upon to pull out all the stops to support new housing construction. A massive slump is imminent, which will have catastrophic social and economic consequences,” explained Schrangl.
