FPÖ motion regarding “Stop the avalanche of costs – relief for Austria” – it is necessary that new elections take place in Austria soon

Vienna (OTS) “This black-green government is hopelessly overwhelmed. Austria is sliding into a real crisis and the ÖVP and the Greens are doing nothing to stop it. On the contrary, the government is still fueling this negative development and does not want to address the causes of the situation – they are not even tackling the symptoms,” criticized FPÖ consumer spokesman NAbg today. Peter Wurm in his contribution to the debate.

“I will therefore submit a motion that summarizes the most important measures that we have been calling for for years. The ÖVP and the Greens have introduced a household tax for everyone, regardless of whether they watch ORF or not. Although this tax has to be paid, a football fan cannot even watch the entire upcoming European Football Championship because, for the first time, the ÖFB team’s games will no longer be shown on ORF. These are things that cannot be explained to a normal thinking person. We all pay the household tax, but the ORF cannot manage to show the European Championships in Germany to the Austrians,” said Wurm, who submitted the motion regarding “Stop the avalanche of costs – relief for Austria,” which calls on the black-green government to immediately submit government proposals to the National Council or to take appropriate measures to ensure the implementation of the following demands in particular in order to stop the current avalanche of costs in order to relieve the burden on Austria:

-Immediate massive tax cut on petrol and diesel by halving or, in the event of further price increases, complete removal of both VAT and mineral oil tax as well as the setting of a price cap for these products.

-Significant increase in the commuter allowance to support employees who rely on their car to get to work.

-Immediate and final cancellation of the C02 levy decided upon as part of the tax reform in order to prevent a further increase in fuel prices.

– Halving or, in the event of further price increases, completely eliminating the VAT on gas and electricity for private households but also for small and medium-sized companies as well as setting a price cap for these products.

-Introduction of a nationwide heating subsidy for people in need of at least 300 euros per household per year

-Automatic inflation adjustment of all insurance, family and social benefits, in particular pensions, unemployment benefits as well as family allowances and nursing allowances.

– Compiling a shopping basket of basic foodstuffs, including halving or eliminating the VAT on the products contained therein and setting a price cap for these products.

-Significant wage increases for employees, which fully cover inflation

-In return, a significant reduction in non-wage labor costs in order not to place an undue burden on entrepreneurs and to prevent a further increase in the price of products and services.

-Removal of all sanctions once morest Russia because of the war in Ukraine, which have negative financial consequences for the Austrians – No sanctions with which Austria cuts itself in the flesh!

-Abolition of the so-called “ORF household levy” introduced on January 1, 2024, which burdens citizens with an additional 800 million euros “compulsory levy”.

-Consistent commitment by the federal government at EU level once morest further joint borrowing and once morest all measures that lead to the redistribution of wealth to the financially troubled southern states.

“It is really bad for people that there is a black-green government. “It is therefore necessary that new elections take place in Austria soon so that an FPÖ-led government under the People’s Chancellor Herbert Kickl can implement an honest and future-proof policy for the Austrians,” Wurm concluded.
