France: 10-year-old child found dead in a suitcase, his mother wanted by the police

A 10-year-old child was found dead Thursday in a suitcase in France, in the Seine-et-Marne department, the day following he disappeared with his 33-year-old mother from their home in Ferrières-en-Brie, learned AFP from police sources and the Meaux prosecutor’s office.

“Husband returned home last night to find his wife and 10-year-old son (had) disappeared from the home. There are bloodstains in the boy’s bedroom,” a police source told AFP, confirming information from the newspaper Le Parisien.

The body was found at midday in a suitcase, thrown into a rubble dumpster located not far from the family residence, according to police sources and Meaux prosecutor Laureline Peyrefitte. The mother was nowhere to be found late Thursday followingnoon. The investigation was entrusted to the criminal brigade of the judicial police of Versailles.
