They want to discover new elements, but above all better preserve evidence of the past. Kigali wants to digitize thousands of archives, but has also commissioned an NGO to record the testimony of survivors still alive.
In Togo, this Thursday was supposed to be the opening of the electoral campaign for the legislative and regional elections, scheduled for April 20. The authorities announced late Wednesday the postponement of the polls, without specifying a date. This new postponement comes in the midst of controversy over the change in the constitution which moves the country from a semi-presidential regime to a parliamentary regime. It is the request of the Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé, for a second reading of the text by the deputies, which would be at the origin of the postponement of the elections.
Finally, we head to Cameroon to discuss this imbroglio around the appointment of a new staff at the head of the national football team, the indomitable lions, led by the Belgian Marc Brys. Last Tuesday the Belgian was presented by the sports ministry as the replacement for Rigobert Song whose contract was not renewed following the African Cup of Nations. But the Cameroonian football federation, led by former football glory Samuel Eto’o, explains that it was not associated with this appointment contrary to what the law provides.
