French military helicopters will transport Covid-19 patients from easternFranceto care centers inGermany, as reported this Saturday by Defense Minister Florence Parly.
The public radio station FranceInfo has reported that the first two patients have been transferred in a‘Cayman’ helicopterfrom the city of Metz. “My deepest thanks to our German friends for their support and solidarity,” Parly posted on Twitter.
Other patients in the eastern region of France have been transferred in previous days and by conventional route to hospitals inSwitzerland, Luxembourg and Rhineland-Palatinate, in Germany.
Germany will also host six seriously ill patients from the Italian city ofBergamo, in the north of the country, that will be transferred this Saturday in a German A310 MedEvac military plane.
The French President,Emmanuel Macron, announced last Wednesday a national military operation to collaborate in the fight against the epidemic. The latest balance brings to 32,964 those infected and 1,995 deaths in France.
