Free Heart Screening for AS Roma Fans at Roma-Lecce Match

AS Roma is partnering with the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico to offer free health screenings to fans attending Sunday’s match against Lecce at the Stadio Olimpico. The initiative, aimed at promoting preventative healthcare, will provide attendees with access to vital health checks and information.

The preventative initiative, now in its second year, will allow fans who register in advance – via this link – to receive a free electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood pressure measurement within a dedicated structure in the Fan Zone. According to AS Roma, slots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The screenings will be available from 4:10 PM to 5:40 PM local time on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Fans with abnormal ECG results will receive a follow-up cardiological evaluation from specialists at the Unità Operativa Complessa di Cardiologia. A medical-sport evaluation will also be available, conducted by the team from the Unità Operativa Semplice di Traumatologia dello Sport. Even those unable to secure a reservation can visit the site to receive a complimentary gift and information on booking a sports suitability visit at the Policlinico Campus Bio-Medico at a reduced rate, as reported by AS Roma’s official website.

Promoting Health and Wellbeing Through Football

This initiative aligns with AS Roma’s sustainability strategy, specifically its “Emergenza e Diritti” policy, which emphasizes the importance of regular physical activity for overall health. The club highlights that exercise not only improves cardiovascular and muscular health but also contributes to mental wellbeing. Regular physical activity is also a preventative measure against chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis.

The partnership between AS Roma and the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico extends beyond this event. The Policlinico Campus Bio-Medico provides medical support to AS Roma’s first team, youth sector, and club staff, including specialist visits, diagnostic tests, and laboratory analyses. The agreement also facilitates the exploration of novel treatment protocols to enhance athlete recovery programs.

Free Health Checks Available in the Fan Zone

The free ECG and blood pressure checks are designed to provide a quick assessment of cardiovascular health. An ECG measures the electrical activity of the heart, and can detect irregularities in heart rhythm or signs of heart damage. Blood pressure measurement is a key indicator of overall cardiovascular health. The availability of these checks at the stadium aims to make preventative healthcare accessible to a wider audience.

The Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico also announced the initiative on their social media channels, including Facebook and LinkedIn, further amplifying the message to potential attendees.

As the Roma-Lecce match approaches, this initiative underscores the growing recognition of the link between sports and health. By offering accessible preventative screenings, AS Roma and the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico are encouraging fans to prioritize their wellbeing, both on and off the pitch. The success of this year’s event will likely inform future collaborations aimed at promoting health and preventative care within the community.
