From July 1 and until the end of August, it will be possible to park for free in certain car parks in the city center of Namur. The measure voted urgently during the municipal council on Tuesday aims to support the commercial dynamic during the summer period, and particularly during the sales. It responds to a request made by the Association of Traders.
In concrete terms, the 475 places in the parking Namur Expo will be free every day. But that’s not all. On Saturdays, market day and part of the hypercentre being pedestrianised, the City Hall car park (350 spaces) and the Rogier car park (112 spaces) will also be accessible free of charge.
Presented by the Alderman for Mobility, Stéphanie Scailquin (Les Engagés), the measure was favorably received in the ranks of the majority and the opposition.
It will be evaluated at the end of August.
