“We have made very significant progress in dismantling peacefully. We issued many warnings to protesters who were resisting,” said Steve Bell.
“We have all the resources to continue,” says the acting chief of the Ottawa police
The leader mentioned that his team had to use resources like irritant gases to push back the crowd following witnessing violent gesture.
“We all saw the protesters being aggressive towards the police and we had to use horses to vary our techniques. We have decided to equip our police officers today with batons and helmets for safety,” he said.

Several investigations have been launched in connection with the possession of firearms by protesters, Ottawa police say.
Police have issued more than 3,600 tickets as part of the protests in downtown Ottawa.
Ottawa police, with the help of several police forces, began a major operation on Friday to try to remove the trucks and protesters from downtown.
