An order issued this Thursday by the president of the French-speaking business court in Brussels extended the mission of the provisional administrators, Nicholas Ouchinsky and Dirk Smets, so that they can cite the company into bankruptcy.

“The various attempts to find an alternative to bankruptcy have all failed. In this context, the president of the company court took his responsibilities in the interest of economic public order and mandated us to cite Bit4You for bankruptcy,” comments Nicholas Ouchinsky in the financial daily.

For his part, Mischaël Modrikamen, who, with Florian Ernotte, represents around 40% of depositors and 55% of liabilities, does not intend to give up.

He still hopes to achieve the agreement reached with the shareholders of Bit4You which concerned the subordination of a series of debts and the sale of cryptoassets still available. He plans to file a motion to have a reorganization practitioner appointed to land the deal.
