Since this year you can officially unite in an energy community. What exactly does that mean and what are the pros and cons? Is it a smart way to save money? We asked industrial engineer Tom Nijsen. As the driving force behind ‘Kermtstroom’, he wants to turn his street into a self-sufficient energy community. “I now earn a few euros every day by planning my large consumers at the lowest hour. That often saves 0.30 or 0.40 euros/kWh.”
