Gaisberg dam on New Year’s Eve: State road only accessible to Zistelalm in the evening

On December 31st, the Gaisberg state road will only be accessible by car as far as the Zistelalm. From there, visitors can take the bus to the summit to watch the fireworks.

The Gaisberg closure comes into force on December 31st at 8 p.m. From then on, the Gaisberg state road will only be accessible to private traffic as far as the Zistelalm, the city of Salzburg announced in a press release on Thursday.

The Gaisberg is popular with many Salzburg residents on New Year’s Eve to watch the fireworks over the city from there. According to the weather forecast from Geosphere Austria, some clouds are to be expected on December 31st, but it will remain dry in the north of the state.

Line 151 (Gaisbergbus) will run continuously on New Year’s Eve night service. There is a special timetable. Details can be found on the Website of the Salzburg Transport Association.
