Corey Gauff in the semi-finals Roland Garros stated that she was disturbed by a groan Martini Trevisan.
With the score at 1:0, 40:40, Gauff approached the referee and complained regarding Trevisan’s long moan following punches: “Usually I don’t care, but I’m already punching, and she’s still screaming.”
Judge Maryana Velovich promised to talk to the Italian and did so during the transition. Trevisan replied, “I think I’m right. I don’t need to change anything.”
Velovich explained that you can moan at the moment of impact, but not following it. Travisan said once more, “I don’t think I need to change anything.”
