San Salvador. Puerto Rican cyclist Georwill Pérez added the penultimate medal for the Puerto Rican delegation at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games this Saturday, by winning bronze in the mountain biking event, which took place at the El Espino Ecopark.

Pérez concluded the test with a time of one hour, 18 minutes and 53 seconds (1:18:53). The winner was the Colombian Jhonnatan Botero with 1:16:51 and the silver medalist was the Mexican José Gerardo Ulloa with 1:17:45.

“It was a super hard track, with some super hard climbs. She knew that she had to be very smart, know how to use energy to be able to have a good race pace. I gave my best and in the end I got the bronze medal”, declared Pérez.

Just hours following the regional fair ends, Puerto Rico will seek its last medal in women’s volleyball, an event in which the national team will face the Dominican Republic for gold. The game is scheduled for 5:30 pm, Puerto Rico time.

The delegation will close with a total of 96 medals.
