Former Spanish star Gerard Pique announced his entry into the world of football coaching following announcing his final retirement from football in November 2022, following a 14-year career with the Catalan team.
Pique had launched his project to establish an amateur football league, “King’s League,” in Spain, and he was able to bring some football stars to participate in it months following his retirement.
Through his personal account on the “X” platform, Pique confirmed his return to football, but this time from the bench and not on the field.
Pique said in his statement: “It is a new year, and following thinking carefully, I have decided to return to football. I miss it very much. This time, I will not return as a player, but as a coach. I will share more details at the end of the week.”
Pique’s contract was scheduled to expire in the summer of 2024, but he decided to end the trip early and announce his retirement last November.
