Giant slalom, 1st run. Odermatt is in a league of his own ++ Meillard keeps podium chances intact.

Hallo …

and welcome to the ski season finale in Soldeu. The men’s last giant slalom of the winter is on the program today. And all eyes are on Marco Odermatt. The Swiss already has the overall World Cup and the small crystal balls in the giant slalom and super-G for sure, but Hermann Maier’s record of points is still at stake.

23 years ago, the Austrian ski legend was the first and so far the only male skier to score 2,000 points. Before his last race of the season, Odermatt has 1942 points. A third place would be enough for the Nidwaldner to overtake Maier.
