Gijs Staverman will no longer be heard on NPO Radio 2 from June 1 and will also be leaving his broadcaster KRO-NCRV. A spokesperson for the broadcaster confirms the presenter’s step following a message regarding this from De Gelderlander. Last modified: April 16, 2024, 2:08 PM
“Gijs has created many hours of beautiful and appealing radio for us, full of love for the music,” the broadcaster’s spokesperson told the newspaper.
“We are very grateful to him for that and we wish Gijs a bright future outside KRO-NCRV.” Staverman has been making programs on NPO Radio 2 for ten years and has also been heard annually during the Top 2000 since 2013.
Staverman is currently making a show for KRO-NCRV from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on NPO Radio 2 entitled Gijs 2.4. The broadcaster, which still has this time slot until the end of the year, is still looking at who will take over the hours following his departure. It is not yet known what Staverman will do following his departure.
