A 10-year-old girl was arrested on Tuesday following allegedly killing a woman who was arguing with her mother in Orlando, Florida on May 30.

According to witness statements to police, it all started when the child’s mother and victim, Lashun Denise Rodgers, 41, started arguing outside an apartment complex.
The child was with his mother at the time of the argument. The mother allegedly punched Rodgers, who retaliated by punching her in the back, the arrest report says.
The victim’s boyfriend told authorities he tried to break up the fight.
He then allegedly saw the child holding a black gun before firing “one or two shots” at his girlfriend, Lashun Denise Rodgers.
The child then allegedly shouted “she shouldn’t have hit my mum,” the spouse told police.
Rodgers was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she later died, according to police spokeswoman Heidi Rodriguez.
State Attorney Monique H. Worrell said her office has begun to review the case and “will consider all of the facts, including the age of the child and all of the circumstances, when it comes to filing. or not of the charges”.
“No charging decision has been made by our office,” the prosecutor said, adding that the incident was “one of the most tragic cases I have seen in my 22-year career.” .
The girl’s mother has been taken into custody according to Orlando police. Custody of the child was given to state social services following the shooting, CNN reports.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
