Polish national football team goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny announced the end of his sports career. He announced the news on social media.

He played 84 matches for the national team. He made his debut on 18.11.2009 in a friendly match against Canada in Bydgoszcz (1:0). He participated in the European Championships in 2012, 2016, 2021 and 2024 and the World Championships in 2018 and 2022.

He played for Arsenal London, Roma and Juventus Turin, with whom he terminated his contract in mid-August.
