After tinkering all past season to make up for Stephen Curry’s absence, Steve Kerr wanted an experienced point guard to double as his double MVP. His choice fell on Brad Wanamaker, left free by the Celtics, after two seasons as a back-up to Kyrie Irving then Kemba Walker.
Big size of European basketball, and notably passed by CSP Limoges, Wanamaker is a sober and experienced leader, able to lead an attack without pulling the cover to him. That’s what Golden State wanted, spending only $ 2.25 million to recruit him.
Other strengths: a good general skill, few stray bullets, and the ability to defend on the two back positions.
