Since the accident in the Hochoetz ski area, in which a gondola crashed following falling from a tree, Patricia T., mother of two victims, has been trying to cope with the situation.
She traveled from Denmark to support her children Sofia and Daniel in the hospital, as an Austrian news portal reports. While Sofia struggles with severe facial injuries, Daniel suffers memory loss following his surgeries.
Complicated recovery
Daniel, 20, suffered four back fractures, facial injuries and a cerebral hemorrhage. Despite visible improvements, such as speaking and laughing, he shows signs of memory loss. His mother Patricia describes the difficult situation and the comprehensive care he needs. “Daniel had to have surgery on his eye socket and cheekbones. He talked, ate and laughed today, but 3 hours later he mightn’t remember anything, not even that we were there or why he is in the hospital with strokes in his body” said the mother to the journalist.
Serious injuries to the ex-husband
Michael, Patricia’s ex-husband and father of the injured children, is also in the hospital. He has serious injuries, including two punctured lungs and several broken ribs. Although his condition is stable, he remains in a coma and his family is preparing to visit him in the hospital.
Other victims in critical condition
In addition to Patricia’s children, her nephew Daniel and her ex-brother-in-law Peder are also in the hospital. Peder has suffered multiple fractures and is in critical condition. The family and hospital staff work closely together to provide the best possible care.
