In the MLS East, the surprise came in Columbus, where the Crew, without the Colombian Juan Camilo ‘Cucho’ Hernández, overwhelmed Atlanta United 6-1, one of the fittest teams in this start of the championship in the United States.
United arrived in Columbus following adding three victories and a draw, with an Argentine Thiago Almada as the absolute protagonist.
But Almada was absent due to his call-up with the Argentine team, with which he was champion last December in Qatar, and his team melted on his visit to Ohio.
After the surprising result, the team led by the Mexican Gonzalo Pineda stayed in third position in the Eastern Conference in the MLS, with 10 units.
