Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno revealed that the government would disburse funds amounting to IDR 2 trillion to facilitate various international concerts and events.

He conveyed this through uploads on his official Instagram @sandunoWednesday (6/3).

“In the future, apart from licensing and improving human resources, the government will facilitate various international concerts and events through the Indonesia Tourism Fund, which this year will disburse IDR 2 trillion,” he wrote.

Initially, Sandiaga considered that the moment Indonesia was overtaken by Singapore in hosting the Taylor Swift concert was a lesson for many parties.

“I see that what the Singapore government is doing for Taylor Swift’s concert should be an inspiration and lesson for us all,” he said.

In the video he uploaded, he said that the moment Singapore succeeded in convincing Taylor Swift to only hold a concert in that country was ‘a correction for Indonesia’.

“I see this as a correction for us, for Indonesia, maybe in the future we can work together because if we look at the visits from spectators from Indonesia, this is definitely huge and this will increase the amount of carbon emissions,” said Sandiaga.

“How do we share and calculate as a whole, maybe if we look, we can aim for 4 days in Singapore or 2 days in Indonesia,” he said.

Sandiaga also revealed that the government, through its ministries, will move quickly to collaborate and build cooperation so that it can create jobs and have an economic impact on Indonesia.
