Government completes 2,200,000 liters of water sent to Chaco through operation “Y Jeroja II”

Asuncion, IP Agency.- This Friday, a new contingent of 32 vehicles loaded with drinking water left Asunción for distribution to communities in the Paraguayan Chaco. This brings the total number of 2,200,000 liters transported since last week, within the framework of the “Y Jeroja II” operation.

The Minister of National Defense, Oscar González, stressed that this operation is carried out by a directive of the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, through the joint effort of several State institutions and the private sector.

Although the trucks are mostly from the Armed Forces of the Nation, there are also vehicles provided by the private sector, water provided by the Paraguayan Sanitation Services Company and fuel provided by the state oil company Petropar, he explained.

He indicated that the 32 trucks that are carrying out the transport today are carrying 350,000 liters, 90 percent of which will be distributed in the department of Boquerón.

He stressed that the most distant location that these vehicles will reach is Laguna Negra, near Mariscal Estigarribia, located 500 kilometers from Asunción.
