Government sends 425,000 liters of water to communities in Presidente Hayes

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Following the “Y Jeroja II” operation, a new shipment of water was made to Chaco. A total of 32 trucks with 425,000 liters were sent, which began distribution to indigenous and rural communities in the department of Boquerón on Wednesday.

The Minister of National Defense, Oscar González, and the Minister of National Emergency, Arsenio Zárate, accompanied the logistics tasks from Pozo Colorado.

In total, some 3,150,000 litres of water have already been delivered since the operation began two weeks ago. In addition to the distribution of water, maintenance work will be carried out on community cisterns, reservoirs and tanks, in preparation for possible rain and to store the water.

Defense Minister Oscar Gonzalez said that the SEN has a list of families affected by the drought and the communities where the water will be distributed, while the National Army is in charge of the logistics.

This water distribution will focus on the districts of Río Verde and Teniente Irala Fernández, the minister said.
