Late Monday evening, fire broke out on the roof of a residential building in Großgmain. Residents of the house noticed the heavy smoke, climbed onto the roof and immediately began extinguishing the fire. The police reported this in a broadcast.
The alerted Großgmain volunteer fire brigade was able to quickly bring the fire under control. “We extinguished embers in the roof area and this prevented them from spreading to the entire roof structure,” writes the fire brigade in a Facebook post.
The cause of the fire and the amount of damage are the subject of further investigations.
