Gunshots in a Los Angeles neighborhood. Three policemen were injured

Three Los Angeles police officers were injured but are in stable condition at the hospital, while the suspect “has been pronounced dead,” the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said.

The suspect, a parolee, was unresponsive when officers arrived, the LAPD said on Twitter.

“Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and provided treatment, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene,” the department said. It did not say how the suspect died.

Several police cars cordoned off the area in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood.
