Diego left Spain in 2015 from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea in a transfer deal that cost the Blues coffers 38 million euros.
Costa’s first season with Chelsea was very impressive, as he participated in 26 games, scored 20 goals and provided 3 assists, and helped the Blues achieve the League Championship and the League Cup for professional clubs.
Diego’s career with Chelsea was impressive but was not completed due to subsequent disagreements with Italian coach Antonio Conte, as he ended up returning to Atlético Madrid in 2018.
