Parents and caregivers are being warned about a potential safety risk with a popular infant sleepsuit. Approximately 45,000 HALO Magic Sleepsuits have been recalled due to a hazard involving the zipper head detaching, posing a choking risk to babies, according to a recent announcement from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The recall impacts sleepsuits sold through major retailers including Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and Target.com, as well as directly through HALO’s website. While no injuries have been reported to date, the CPSC urges immediate action from consumers who own the affected product. This recall highlights the importance of vigilance regarding infant product safety and underscores the potential dangers posed by even seemingly minor defects.
What Products Are Affected?
The recalled HALO Magic Sleepsuits include batch codes PO30592, PO30641, and PO30685. These sleepsuits, designed for infants, are made from 100% cotton with 100% polyester fill and feature double zippers running down the front. They were available in a variety of colors and sizes, including tiny (12-18 lbs) and large (18-21 lbs). Consumers can identify the recalled items by checking the sewn-in label inside the garment and the hang tag for the specified batch codes and the indication “Made in India.” The sleepsuits were sold between September 2025 and February 2026.
The CPSC announced the recall on March 5, 2026, after receiving 15 reports of the zipper head detaching from the garment. Consumer Reports also reported on the recall, emphasizing the potential choking hazard for babies.
