Hattie Giblin Named Summit League Women’s Soccer Scholar of the Championship

DENVER—South Dakota senior Hattie Giblin has been named the Summit League Women’s Soccer Scholar of the Championship announced by the league Friday followingnoon.

Giblin, a CSC Academic All-District team, two-time Summit League Honor Roll and Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence member, boasts a perfect 4.00 grade-point average as a kinesiology and sport management major.

A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Giblin has played in 61 games as a midfielder for the Coyotes. Giblin has tallied two goals, four assists and 19 shots for South Dakota.

The Summit League Scholar of the Championship is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative undergraduate grade-point average participating at each of the Summit League’s 19 championships. Each institution that is participating in a Summit League Championship is eligible to submit one nominee for the Scholar of the Championship award.

The women’s soccer quarterfinals begin Friday with South Dakota taking on Omaha at 2 p.m. (Central) in Denver, Colorado, and Kansas City taking on Oral Roberts at 4 p.m. in Brookings, South Dakota.
