Haute-Savoie: a truck driver intercepted with 3 grams of alcohol in his blood – Le Messager

A truck zigzagging on the highway: this is what worried motorists heading towards Chamonix on Sunday September 1, 2024 in the middle of the afternoon. Alerted, the motorized platoon of the gendarmerie managed to intercept the vehicle in question near Groisy.

When it came to testing the blood alcohol level of the driver, a foreign national, the police were stunned: 1.40 mg of alcohol per litre of exhaled air… or 2.80 grams of alcohol in the blood!

With nearly 3 grams, the truck driver was taken into custody and brought before the courts. Appearing on Tuesday, September 3, he was sentenced to 4 months in prison, suspended, a €1,100 fine and a one-year driving ban on the national territory.
