“Basil and I were two small-town boys who came here dreaming of making movies. I was Iringalakuda and he was Batheri.
We entered Malayalam cinema at the same time. They made two movies together. We both understand what we are talking about. He could imagine my jokes. He said the same to me.
I’m going to hold back when he directs this movie. Basil knows me, so he knows what he wants and what he can get from me as an actor.
Maybe that’s why there was chemistry between us. Now, if we’re doing an interview together, by the time I’m about to tell a joke, he’s already done it. This is because we think alike. All that is said is mud. But the truth is, you can find a match even in the mud,” Tovino said.
