He appropriated Q400 thousand by offering high interest rates to several investors
Using his financial knowledge and making people believe a good double-digit return in the short term, this Monday a person was arrested for usurpation and appropriation of regarding Q400 thousand.

Good management of numbers, mastery of his knowledge and generating trust allowed Marvín “N” aged 28, to appropriate some Q400 thousand by deceiving and making people believe that they would have a double-digit return by carrying out intermediation operations with their money in the short term.
The case was reported in several places in the country’s highlands, where Marvin toured the villages and places near Totonicapán, where he deceitfully offered high interest rates on the return of his clients’ supposed investments, which they agreed to.
The National Civil Police reported his arrest on Monday, since on June 21 an arrest warrant was issued by the local court for the crime of impersonation of property.
The investigation indicates that the detainee pretended to be a representative of a banking entity; through his cunning command of the documents he presented, he convinced several people to make investments, offering high interest rates, as well as a return in a period of six months -180 days-, and for which he used false information.
The case is reportedly under investigation to determine if there are other people involved.
Police authorities reiterated their call to the population not to be surprised by this type of fraud, especially in the informal economy.
