Al-Marsad daily reported that meteorological forecasts suggest a high probability of intense thunderstorms and potentially torrential downpours in Riyadh, Dammam, and the eastern provinces tonight and into Sunday morning.
The weather service projected that, starting Saturday evening and continuing overnight into Sunday, a powerful cold front will sweep across the Kingdom’s eastern areas, dramatically escalating rainfall. This will generate powerful storm clouds, potentially resulting in extremely heavy downpours—the most extensive in recent memory. There’s also a chance of hail.
These downpours are anticipated to be intense, featuring lightning, thunder, and strong gusts. This combination might cause significant water accumulation, leading to flash floods and overflowing wadis, necessitating extreme caution.
