Port Blair കനത്ത Heavy rain and strong winds across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands herald the arrival of Hurricane Asani. People were evacuated from the coastal areas. Shipping between the islands and between Chennai and Visakhapatnam has been suspended till tomorrow. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. 150 members of the National Disaster Response Force were deployed at various locations. Relief camps were set up at six places.
