Hezbollah announced today (15/5) that it launched a drone attack against an Israeli military base near Tiberias, about 35 kilometers from Lebanon’s border with Israel.
The attack came a day after an Israeli airstrike near Tire in Lebanon killed a commander of Hezbollah’s military arm.
Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, there have been almost daily hostilities between the Israeli army and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which supports the Palestinian Islamist movement.
Today’s drone strike in the Tiberias region is Hezbollah’s first long-range strike inside Israeli territory in seven months.
