The driver was heading toward a BOB checkpoint around 11 p.m., but instead of slowing down in sight of law enforcement, he accelerated. The police then started chasing him.
The driver drove at high speed towards the center of Londerzeel, where he hit four other cars. He then fled. The police have not yet found his trace and he has not yet been able to be identified, according to the prosecution.
A small quantity of drugs was found in his vehicle. This is perhaps why he fled, explains the prosecution. The matter will now be further investigated.
