It was 10:20 a.m. this Sunday morning when an accident occurred on Montgomery Street in Kain. According to the testimony of a customer from a nearby business, a vehicle which was driving at high speed from Tournai and which had already almost caused an accident at the Morel bridge hit a lady aged around seventy who was in crossing the street with his dog on a pedestrian crossing. The victim was thrown 20 meters further on his stomach and no longer moved.
Still according to testimony, the driver got out of his car but got back in just as quickly to flee. The woman was taken care of by the emergency services. She was intubated and taken in critical condition. The driver would have been identified.
In the followingnoon, the prosecution confirmed that the victim’s life was in danger and that an expert had been appointed.
