Vienna – After previous negotiations, it is now official: The German economist Holger Bonin will be the new head of the Vienna Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS). Bonin will take up the role on July 1, 2023, the IHS announced on Thursday. Bonin follows Klaus Neusser, who has headed the IHS on an interim basis since May 2022.
