Holy Week: if you leave the house, make sure to close the general water tap

Going out of town for Easter? The National Superintendence of Sanitation Services (Sunass) recommends that before traveling, you check all your drinking water connections, such as pipes and toilets, elevated tanks, among others, as well as correctly closing the general tap of the water system. This will avoid leaks and therefore surprises in the billing of receipts at the end of the month.

ALSO, IF YOU STAY AT HOME, SUNASS RECOMMENDS:

  • Close the pipe while you lather your hands.
  • Use a glass of water to brush your teeth.
  • Take showers of no more than five minutes.
  • Reuse the water from washing fruits and vegetables to water the plants or the garden.
  • Do not use the water from the hose to clean floors or wash the car.
  • Use the washing machine with a full load, so as not to waste water.
