Many parents are particularly grateful for grandma and grandpa, especially now in summer, when there is childcare to be taken care of during the nine-week school vacation. If they live nearby, are already retired and reasonably fit, they are often happy to entrust their own children to their grandparents as reliable and inexpensive babysitters. And if they live further away, it is often a solution to send the offspring to them on vacation. That’s the situation from a parent’s perspective.
